Increase Humility and Tolerance
The one who practices devotion to Shri Krishna should memorize this lesson first, that mind is our enemy. The biggest defect in it is pride. Due to pride, we are not able to become humble. God, on the other hand, is a friend to the one who is humble. With pride, even if we chant God's name for countless lifetimes, we cannot attain our goal.
Always remember - Trinaadapi sunichena tarorapi sahishnuna. (First verse from Ashtapadi) Be more humble than a blade of grass and be more tolerant than a tree, We don't have anything in us that we can be proud of, because, till the time we are under the control of Maya, we are filled with defects. Then why do you feel bad if someone mentions one of the faults among the countless others that are within us? By getting angry, we harm our body as well. Just because you don't accept your fault doesn't mean the other person will think of you as a saint. If you argue unnecessarily, you will harm yourself as well as the other person.
Repeatedly contemplate on this - Humility and tolerance are the foundations of devotion. The human body is slipping away - when will you contemplate and when will you practice? Practice every day - think where all did I get angry today, and resolve that you will not let it happen tomorrow. By leaving these faults you will find yourself peaceful in just 10 days.
